can we rightly call classic “existentialist” authors by that name?
Do you happen to know who started using the phrase “Existential Thomism” (like Jacque Maritain) and how that got thrown into the mix?
I imagine either him or Gilson, who were its main early representatives. Perhaps to distinguish what they were up to from the many other varieties of Thomism floating around at the time.
