I find the Apollonian/Dionysian classification is useful when looking at worship styles in religion: Zen and Catholic Mass being Apollonian, while Voodoo trances and Pentecostal services land on the Dionysian end. It's certainly useful to understand that things are often a mix of both.

The return to nature aspect of Dionysus reminds me also of Robespierre or the Transcendentalist movement.
