Thanks for posting this This is a wonderful explication of a two often ignored aspect of Aristotle‘s ethics. I look forward to rereading it in greater detail. Its often been said that the wisdom of the ancient Greeks was directed at understanding what is the good life, and indeed good friendship not having over 200 friends on Facebook or superficial but long-term acquaintanceshios, is for sure an integral part of living a good life.
As it turns out, it's not just something that's discussed by ancient Greeks, but all over the ancient world, extending into Medieval and modern thought as well. Just gotta know where to look
