You'll find that dictionary definitions are almost never a good place to start if your goal is to understand or discuss terms used in philosophical texts.

I would su substitute "able to make and store connections" for "wise."

I guess you could. It's a free country, right. But then you've changed the meaning significantly, and it no longer has much to do with this text or the schools of thought it presents

Thank you for sharing this Dr. Sadler! I am definitely going to have to read this work. I have read some of his On Duties. Which I am very impressed with and I am now a Cicero fan.
