Video and Podcast Resources On Cicero's Shorter Works
useful for studying On Fate, Stoic Paradoxes, and On Friendship
I asked all of you Substack subscribers which philosopher, on whose works I already have video and podcast resources produced, they would most like to see a resource page on. One of the thinkers who got mentioned is Marcus Tullius Cicero. And I have developed quite a few resources on certain of his works over the years. He’s someone I often incorporate within my classes. So, I thought it would make good sense to start with him.
Since I have produced so many videos and podcast episodes on Cicero’s works, and since with the longer ones my coverage of them is at this point just partial, I thought it made sense to start by just aggregating the resources I have on his shorter works in this page. At this point, those works include On Fate, Stoic Paradoxes, and On Friendship. I’ll add additional pages for longer works like On The Ends, On Duties, and On The Nature Of The Gods later on down the line.
In any case, here they are. I hope you find them useful if you choose to study the works and thought of this important and often unfortunately overlooked philosopher.
