Really great essay! Could we then say that the virtue of prudence is closely aligned with the Stoic idea of appropriate action?

“Appropriate action” is one translation for the term (kathēkon, officium) that also can be translated just as well as “duty”. So yes, there’s no “could we say?” for any of the virtues. They’re all closely connected with and inform the many different duties we have and how we fulfill them.

Ah! I understood appropriate action as being reasonable choices based on our specific understanding of our roles in life. Not without virtue, but sort of regardless of the virtue in it. Prudence seemed to me particularly aligned with it because of the emphasis on *practical* wisdom. But actually, it is all of the virtues that inform our reasonable actions! Profound. Thank you!
